Potassium Broth

Potassium is a mineral that is found in the foods you eat. It is also an electrolyte. Electrolytes conducts electrical impulses throughout the body. They assist in a range of essential body functions, including: blood pressure; normal water balance; muscle contractions; nerve impulses; digestion and heart rhythm. Potassium isn’t produced naturally by the body, so it’s important to consume the right balance of potassium-rich foods and beverages.  Potassium-rich sources include: fruits, such as apricots, bananas, kiwi, oranges, and pineapples, vegetables, such as leafy greens, carrots, and potatoes, lean meats, whole grains, beans and nuts.


Potassium Broth - Home remedy for  Pneumonia: Drink a potassium broth. Ingredients: 4 carrots washed with skin; 2 potatoes with skins; 1 onion, quartered; 3 stalks celery; 1/2 bunch parsley; 1/2 head red cabbage; 1/2 bunch broccoli; 1-2 cloves garlic (add more to your preference).
Add filtered or bottled water to cover the vegetables, bring to a boil and then simmer with lid on for 30-minutes. The vegetables should be firm - not mushy.
Remove from heat and serve hot or store in the refrigerator or freeze for later. I think it also tastes excellent served cold. If desired you can pour into a blender and puree for a creamy texture. You can then freeze single servings or even pour into an ice cube tray and reheat as desired.
