Traditional Usages: Culinary Herb-Spice, Perfumes, Oils, Drinks, Children's Diarrhea, Dysentery, Colic, Nausea, Vomiting, Nervous Stomach, Throbbing Headache caused by Stress, Palpitation, Oil Masage for Rheumatic Pains and Stimulate Circulation, Coughs, Flatulence, Morning Diarrhea, Chronic Colitis, Drowsiness, Cold, Aphrodisiac
Resources: Banda Islands (Indonesia), Malayan Archipelago, Sumatra, French Guiana (South America), Grenada (Caribbean), Mauritius, US, Africa, Southeast India
Parts Used: Dried Kernels (Nutmag and Mace come from the same evergreen tree).
Health Warning: Avoid during Pregnancy and Breastfeeding. Large doses of Nutmeg/Mace can produce convulsions and palpitations - it should be taken in very small doses.


Nutmeg and Ghee - Herbal remedy for Sleep Apnea: Grate a nutmeg and add a teaspoon of ghee (Indian clarified butter) to make a paste. Apply the nutmeg ghee paste to the forehead and around the eyes.
