Alfalfa - Herbal remedy for Arthritis: The herb Alfalfa is very effective in treating arthritis. It can be taken as a tea. To prepare the tea add one ounce of fresh or dried herb in a pot containing one quart of water. Allow to boil for 30 minutes. Strain and drink as many times as possible in a day.

Alfalfa - Herbal remedy for Chest Pains:  Alfalfa juice contains chlorophyll which helps many lung related diseases. Alfalfa extract softens the arteries and reduces the chances of cardiac pain. Alfalfa juice can help to prevent many arterial problems and heart diseases, such as coronary artery disease, heart valve disease and pericardial effusion. Juice made from fresh alfalfa leaves assists with preventing plaque formation and increasing blood flow around the heart. Rinse the fresh alfalfa plant thoroughly before liquidizing, removing any brown leaves and stems. You can juice most parts of the plant which grow above the ground, including thin stems, leaves and even flowers. Make sure that your source of alfalfa is organically grown, as chemical pesticides and fertilizers can become concentrated in your juice. You will obtain a dark green juice. Fresh alfalfa leaves are found in many markets and food stores. If unavailable use dried leaves, soak in a little warm water before liquidizing.  Drink equal amounts of alfalfa juice and carrot juice twice daily for maximum benefit.

Alfalfa – Herbal remedy for Deep Vein Thrombosis:  Typical dosage recommendations for alfalfa range from 250-1000 milligrams taken 2-3 times daily with meals. Although alfalfa is available as fresh or dried leaf, it is most often taken as a capsule or as a tablet. When dried leaves are used, infusing one ounce of dried leaves in one pint of water for up to 20 minutes makes a good tea. Two cups of this tea should be taken daily.

Alfalfa – Herbal remedy for E.Coli: Alfalfa nourishes the digestive, skeletal, glandular, and urinary systems. Alfalfa contains chlorophyll, which is renowned for its cleansing qualities. Infuse one teaspoon of fresh or dried alfalfa in boiling water and let it cool down. Strain and drink twice a day.

Alfalfa - Herbal remedy for Hives: Consumption of alfalfa tea or juice can help in reducing the swelling and itching caused by hives. This herb should be used until the hives problem is completely resolved.

Alfalfa – Herbal remedy for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Drink an infusion of alfalfa three times daily. Infuse two tablespoons of alfalfa in a cup of boiling water, strain and drink.

Alfalfa - Herbal remedy for Menopause: Alfalfa helps to stimulate production of the reduced estrogen level in menopausal women. Take one 648 milligram tablet once daily. Alfalfa supplements come in many forms. There are dried leaves available and they are also being sold as supplements. Supplements  come as 250 milligram to 1000 milligram alfalfa tablets or alfalfa capsules and they are available in drug and health stores all over the world. Alfalfa supplement is mostly taken in tablet and capsule form. One tablet of 650 milligrams can be taken once daily for two weeks and then again when there are hot flashes   One tablespoon of dried alfalfa leaves can also be infused in one pint of hot  water for 20 minutes to make alfalfa tea. Drinking two cups of alfalfa tea daily achieves good results.

Alfalfa - Herbal remedy for Ringworm: Grind alfalfa root with a little water into a paste. Apply paste on affected area.
