Brown Rice or White Rice: White rice, unlike brown rice, has the bran and germ removed; and has different nutritional content. Brown rice is a whole grain rice with an inedible outer hull removed. Brown rice is an excellent source of manganese, magnesium, niacin, phosphorus, selenium, thiamine and vitamin B6, and is high in fiber.
