Health Warning: Avoid during Pregnancy. In individual cases allergic reactions of skin and respiratory tract. Fennel preparations should not be used on a prolonged basis (several weeks) without consulting a physician or pharmacist.  


Fennel Seeds - Herbal remedy for ADHD: Fennel is a herb that has hollow stems, feathery leaves, flowers and fruits. Its fruit which is the part most often used in herbal medicine is a dry seed. The health properties of fennel seeds are calming, antispasmodic and antidepressant. Pour  one cup of boiling water over 1-2 teaspoons of fennel seeds and infuse for 10 minutes. Drink up to three times a day.

Fennel Seeds – Herbal remedy for Body Odour: Fennel seeds may be able to effectively treat body odour. Fennel can reduce bad breath and body odour that originates in the intestines.  Eat whole fennel seeds after every meal whenever needed. You may also drink a cup of fennel tea each day to help reduce body odour. Make fennel tea by crushing 2 to 3 teaspoons of fennel seeds and then simmering the crushed seeds in a cup of water for 15 minutes.

Fennel Seeds - Herbal remedy for Colic:  Prepare fennel seed tea by boiling one teaspoon of fennel seeds in one cup of water or using one fennel tea bag in a cup of water. A nursing mother should drink a cup a day and give the baby one teaspoon three times a day.
Health Warning: Mothers with any estrogen-sensitive condition such as breast cancer, fibrocystic breast disease or endometriosis should not take fennel seed.

Fennel Seeds - Herbal remedy for Dehydration: Mix half a teaspoon of ground fennel seeds with one cup buttermilk. Drink four times daily.

Fennel Seeds - Herbal remedy for  GlaucomaFennel is used in salads. However it is also very good for vision problems. It can be eaten raw or made into a tea and the tea can be used as eyewash.

Fennel Seeds - Herbal remedy for Halitosis: Fennel seeds can be chewed after meals to get rid of bad breath.

Fennel Seeds – Herbal remedy for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Chew some fennel seeds or drink fennel tea after meals for irritable bowel syndrome. Boil two tablespoons of fennel seeds in a cup of water, strain and drink.

Fennel Seeds – Herbal remedy for Morning Sickness: Boil one tablespoon of fennel seeds in one cup of water. Strain and drink twice a day.

Fennel Seeds - Herbal remedy for Stomach Ache: Fennel seed causes food to pass through your system more quickly, not allowing gas to build up. It also prevents the muscle spasms that trap gas in the body, causing bloating and pain. You can add fennel seeds to food, eat fennel seeds after a meal, or make a tea by infusing1 teaspoon crushed fennel seed in 1 cup of hot water for 10 minutes. Drink this tea three times a day after meals.
