Pancreatin Supplement

Pancreatin also known as Pancreatic enzymes and pancrelipase, is a mixture of several digestive enzymes produced by the exocrine cells of the pancreas. It is composed of amylase, lipase and protease. This mixture is used to treat conditions in which pancreatic secretions are deficient, such as surgical pancreatectomy, pancreatitis and cystic fibrosis. Pancreatin should be used with caution in: women who are pregnant, likely to get pregnant, or who are breastfeeding. It should not be used in: patients who are allergic to pork or any pig products.
Pancreatic enzymes have been used as medications since at least the 1800s.They are on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines, the most effective and safe medicines needed in a health system.

Pancreatin - Supplement for Abdominal Pain: Pancreatin tablets can replace digestive enzymes. Digestive enzymes are substances produced by an organ called the pancreas. Some health problems cause the pancreas to produce less of these enzymes. These problems are cystic fibrosis or chronic inflammation of your pancreas and stomach or intestinal surgery. You may then need to take pancreatin, it is a powder which has a faint, characteristic but not offensive odour. Suggested daily use is one teaspoon mixed with half a cup of water daily.
Health Warning: Avoid if pregnant or breastfeeding. You should only take pancreatin tablets under the supervision of your doctor.

Always seek professional medical advice before taking herbal medications
