L-Carnitine Vitamin

Other Names: Carnitine, L-Carnitine, Acetyl L-Carnitine, L-Acetyl-Carnitine, Propionl L-Carnitine. The various forms of carnitine available provide preferred support for particular functions, however, you will still get general support for all functions regardless of the form used. Always read the manufacturer's labels carefully.

L-Carnitine, Carnitine is a compound used by the body to turn fat into energy. It is not normally considered an essential nutrient because the body can manufacture all it needs. For genetic or medical reasons, some individuals, such as preterm infants, cannot make enough, so for them carnitine is a conditionally essential nutrient. Foods that are high in Carnitine include: Beef Steak and Ground Beef (cooked), Whole Milk, Cod fish, Chicken breast, Ice Cream, Cheddar Cheese, Whole Wheat Bread, Aspargus.

Herbal Research: Carnitine


L-Carnitine - Vitamins for Myopathy: Take around 2 grams of L-Carnitine in supplemental form daily. L-Carnitine is an amino acid and a deficiency in L-Carnitine is often associated with the development of cardiomyopathy.

L-Carntine - Vitamins for Male Infertility: A number of clinical studies have demonstrated the efficacy of oral administration of  L-Carnitine for men with various forms of sperm dysfunction. Take 3 grams of  L-Carnitine daily as part of a treatment of 3 months duration.
