Traditional Usages: Fever, Colds, Flu, Asthma, Catarrh, Nasal Catarrh, Sinusitis, Sore Throat, Respiratory Disorders, Chest Rubs, Congestive Headache, Pyrrhoea and Bleeding Gums, Traditional Aboriginal Fever Remedy, Malaria, Typhoid, Diptheria, Foul Diarrhea, Vaginal Infections with an unpleasant Odour, Gangrenous Conditions, Antiseptic, Herpes, Whooping Cough, Emphysema, Abscess, Acne

Parts Used: Leaves, Bark, Oil from distilled leaves
Administration Method: Essential oil, Chopped leaf for infusions.
Herb Action: Secretomotory, Expectorant, Weakly antispasmodic
Possible Side Effects: In rare cases, after taking eucalyptus preparations nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea may occur.  
Herbal Research: Eucalyptus
Health Warning: Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding. In large doses Eucalyptus is toxic. Eucalyptus preparations should not be applied to the face, especially the nose, of babies and very young children.  Avoid Eucalyptus if there is Inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract and the bile ducts; or serious liver diseases. 


Eucalyptus, Peppermint and Marshmallow - Herbal remedy for Laryngitis: Eucalyptus, peppermint and marshmallow can treat laryngitis. Eucalyptus and peppermint soothe irritated throats while marshmallow coats the throat keeping it moist. Herbal teas can be made by infusing the leaves in boiling water.
