Feverfew - Herbal remedy for Migraine: Feverfew is an anti-inflammatory working much like ibuprofen.  Thus it is very good for headaches. It may inhibit chemicals that cause the blood vessels in your head to spasm. New research is telling us that one key chemical in feverfew parthenolide may have leukemia-fighting properties (Monica Guzman, PhD, of the University of Rochester Medical School and research team, 2005). It is also called bachelor's button and is a member of the daisy family. For a long time feverfew was thought to relieve fever symptoms hence the name but that did not turn out to be the case.

You can either infuse about ten chopped leaves in a cup of hot water and drink it if you have a headache or migraine or if you have persistent migraines and headaches you can take a supplement for some time. But before doing so consult your medical doctor. Take one supplement of feverfew extract of 200 milligrams which has a high percentage of parthenolides such as 0.5 per cent per day.

Feverfew - Herbal remedy for Pain:  Feverfew is another herb used for pain relief. It is used to stop inflammation and the resulting pain as it also contains constituents that reduce prostaglandin levels. Traditionally it is used as a primary remedy in the treatment of migraine headaches, as it relaxes contracted blood vessels and increases blood flow to the brain. Feverfew may be used to treat menstrual irregularities and stomach ache. In capsule form, the dosage may be 1-6 capsules daily, or 25 milligram capsules of freeze dried leaf twice a day. It can also be taken as a tea by infusing 2-3 fresh leaves in boiling water.

Feverfew - Herbal remedy for Stress: Feverfew is used for migraines as well as anxiety. Many people who suffer from anxiety attacks also get anxiety headaches. Feverfew is also good for stress.

Always seek the advice of your doctor before taking herbal remedies
