Selenium and Vitamin E

Selenium is a mineral that plays a role in many bodily functions. Selenium helps the immune system work properly, as well as in reproduction. It also helps prevent damage to cells and tissues. Too much selenium causes selenosis, a condition that, in its mildest form, can lead to loss of hair, skin and nails.

Good sources of Selenium are some fish, meat, brown rice, Brazil nuts and eggs. You should be able to get all the selenium you need by eating a varied and balanced diet.

Selenium and Vitamin E - Supplement for Allergies: Selenium is an antioxidant and works with vitamin E. Take 50-100 micrograms twice a day during the allergy season.  Also take a 100 microgram Vitamin E tablet twice a day, Vitamin E works better when Selenium has been taken as well.

Always seek professional medical advice before taking herbal medications
