Slippery Elm Bark - Herbal remedy for Rickets: The correct dose for a child is calculated by weight. If a child weighs 50 pounds the correct dose is one third of the adult dosage. One 500 milligram capsule can be taken three times daily by adults. An infusion is made by adding 4 grams of powdered bark to 500 millilitres of boiling water. A child of 12 and over can take half a cup, once daily.
