Vitamin B1, Thiamin

Vitamin B1 (Thiamin) helps the body cells change carbohydrates into energy and keeps the nervous system healthy. Getting enough carbohydrates is very important during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It is also essential for heart function and healthy nerve cells.

Vitamin B1: Good food sources of Thiamin include: Liver, Fresh and Dried Fruit, Wholegrain Breads, Eggs and Fortified Cereals. However, you should be able to get all the Thiamin you need from a healthy diet.


Vitamin B1 - Vitamins for Anorexia: Vitamin B1 known as thiamine is beneficial in increasing appetite, 5-30 milligrams can be taken daily for one month.
