Fish Oil

Omega-3 fish oil contains both docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Omega-3 fatty acids are essential nutrients that are important in preventing and managing heart disease. Findings show omega-3 fatty acids may help to lower blood pressure.

Fish Oil can be obtained by eating fish or taking supplements. Fish that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids include: mackerel, herring, tuna, salmon, cod liver, whale blubber and seal blubber.

The body does not produce its own omega-3 fatty acids. Nor can the body make omega-3 fatty acids from omega-6 fatty acids.
