Traditional Usages: Drive Away Melancholy, Palpitations, Pounding Heart, Spasms, Paralysis, Stimulate Urine and Menstrual Bleeding, Purges Stones from the Kidneys, Depression, Migraine, Anxiety after Childbirth, Hysteria, Said to have a toning an relaxing effect on the Uterus before Childbirth, Causes the Uterus to Contract after Delivery, Helps Expel Chest Phlegm, Kills Worms, Cramps, Convulsions, Strengthens the Heart and Promotes Longevity (Traditional Chinese).

Motherwort, Lime Blossom, Hawthorn, Lily of the Valley – Herbal remedy for Heart Disease:  If you suffer from angina the following mixture may be of assistance: 3 teaspoons dried hawthorn berries;  2 teaspoons dried motherwort; 2 teaspoons dried lime blossom; one teaspoon dried lily of the valley. All these herbs are available dried from health stores. Mix all the herbs. Pour a cup of boiling water onto 1-2 teaspoons of the dried herbs and leave to infuse for 10-15 minutes. This should be drunk three times per day over a long period.
