Butcher's Broom - Herbal remedy for PilesButchers broom extract contains anti-inflammatory and vein-constricting properties that can shrink the swollen tissue. Butcher's broom is usually recommended in capsule or tea form. As the tea has a slightly bitter taste, a bit of honey can be used to sweeten it. The tea can be made by infusing one teaspoon of the herb in a cup of hot water for 10-15 minutes. Butchers broom has also been shown to be effective when applied topically as an ointment or compress.
Health Warning: Butchers broom should not be used by people with high blood pressure and by people taking other medications unless otherwise recommended by their doctor.
