Varicose Veins

Varicose Veins: Varicose veins are gnarled, enlarged veins. Any vein may become varicose but the veins most commonly  affected are those in your legs and feet. The reason for this is that standing and walking upright increase the pressure in the veins of your lower body.

Varicose veins can cause aching pain and discomfort, swollen feet and ankles, muscle cramp in the legs and dry skin and colour changes in the lower leg. Sometimes varicose veins lead to more serious problems. Varicose veins may also signal a higher risk of other circulatory problems.

Certain things can increase your chances of developing varicose veins, such as:
  •     pregnancy
  •     being overweight
  •     old age

Consult your doctor if your varicose veins are causing you pain or discomfort, if the skin over your veins is sore and irritated, if  the aching in your legs is causing irritation at night and disturbing your sleep.

Always seek the advice of your doctor before taking herbal remedies
