Health Warning: Avoid during Pregnancy and Breastfeeding. In concentrated form, oil of cloves may be irritating to mucosal tissues.  


Cloves - Natural remedy for Anorexia: Cloves are helpful in treating anorexia by boosting appetite. Make a tea by boiling six cloves in two cups of water. Add some lemon juice to it before consumption.

Cloves - Natural remedy for Cholera: Boil 10 cloves in two cups of water. Let it cool down and take at regular intervals.

Cloves – Natural remedy for Cold Sores: Clove contains the compound eugenol, which clinical studies show has direct anti-herpetic action. Apply clove oil on the sores.

Cloves - Natural remedy for Cough:  Cloves can be very soothing for coughs caused by cold and flu. You can chew three to four cloves every four to five hours. Great relief can be obtained from cold and flu by drinking a mixture made of cloves, cinnamon and honey. Boil 10 cloves together with a 3-inch cinnamon stick and two cups of water. Reduce to one cup of liquid. Add one teaspoon of honey and two teaspoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Drink while still hot. It will reduce fever and coughing.

Cloves - Natural remedy for Flu (Influenza):  Cloves can be very soothing for coughs caused by cold and flu. You can chew three to four cloves every four to five hours. Cloves - Natural remedy for Halitosis: Cloves have a spicy and earthen taste. Chew a handful of clove seeds when bad breath occurs. This not only masks the odour but acts as an oral antiseptic and it helps remove some of the bacteria that cause bad breath.

Cloves – Natural remedy for Premature Ejaculation: The clove is an evergreen tree. The bud of its flower was used as medicine in India and China. Clove oil can be massaged on to the male organ.
