Passionflower - Herbal remedy for ADHD: Passionflower is recommended as a herbal treatment for ADHD. It helps to even out mood swings, increases concentration and treats anxiety disorder. Passionflower extract is available in liquid form. Twenty one drops mixed in half a glass of water should be taken daily.

Passionflower - Herbal remedy for Anxiety: Passionflower is also available as fluid or tincture extract (follow directions on the bottle). Capsules of the dried herbal extract are available from 200-400 milligrams. Capsules can be taken once or twice a day or as needed to reduce stress.

Passionflower – Herbal remedy for Bipolar Disorder: Passionflower has tranquilizing properties. It helps relieve excitability and anxiety during manic phases of bipolar disorder. It may also help reduce the effects of insomnia during both manic and depressive phases. Pour 3 cups of boiling water over 4 tablespoons of fresh or dried passionflower and infuse for 5 minutes. Strain and serve with honey.

Passionflower can be consumed as a tea three times daily. This herb can also be consumed as a liquid extract at a dose of 45-60 drops each day.

Passionflower - Herbal remedy for Headaches: Traditionally used as a calming herb for such conditions as anxiety and insomnia, passionflower can also be helpful in easing headaches. It calms the nerves and relieves nervous tension giving rise to headache. Adult doses for passionflower as 10-30 drops of the fluid extract, taken three times per day and 10-60 drops of tincture three times a day.

Passionflower - Herbal remedy for Insomnia: Passionflower can be taken in the form of tea, tincture or capsules. Taking the herb can make a person feel very sleepy. Infuse one tablespoon of dried herb in a cup of boiling water for 10-minutes, strain and drink.

Passionflower – Herbal remedy for Panic Disorder: Passionflower may be helpful in relieving your anxiety. Infuse 4-8 grams of dried herb in a cup of boiling water for 10-minutes. Strain and allow to cool. Drink 4 times daily.

Health Warning: Women should avoid use of passionflower as it is a known uterine stimulant. Though no adverse effects of passionflower have been reported, large doses may result in central nervous depression. Those suffering from depression should avoid passionflower.
 
Passionflower - Herbal remedy for Sleep Apnea: Passionflower is another plant commonly used to improve sleep disorders. In Europe it often used as a mild hypnotic and sedative to calm the nervous system and promote sleep. This herb is often combined with other medicinal plants (skullcap, peach leaves, Californian poppy and hops) to increase effectiveness. It is also combined with Valerian tea or pills. 

The University of Maryland Medical Centre provides the recommended adult doses for passionflower as 10-30 drops of the fluid extract, taken three times per day and 10-60 drops of tincture three times a day for all conditions. For insomnia a cup of tea made from the herb is recommended one hour before retiring, although 3-4 cups of tea may be taken to counter anxiety throughout the day. MedlinePlus, the National Institutes of Health's medical information website recommends a tablet containing 90 milligrams of drug daily, or 45 drops of liquid extract per day for the specific treatment of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) which is a common anxiety disorder that involves chronic worrying, nervousness, and tension
Health Warning: Passionflower is not recommended for patients with depression, as it will intensify this symptom. People with severe sleep apnea may also have signs of depression, so they should avoid taking this herb.
 
Passionflower - Herbal remedy for Social Phobia: Passionflower is one of nature's best tranquilizers. It is often used for its calming effect to combat anxiety, stress, and insomnia. A tablespoon of fresh or dried passionflower can be infused in a cup of boiling water to make a tea. Drink three cups daily.

Passionflower - Herbal remedy for Stress: Passionflower is used for anxiety, stress and insomnia. Take one tablet of 200 milligrams once daily.
Health Warning: Side effects of passionflower may include nausea, vomiting, drowsiness and rapid heartbeat. Passionflower should not be taken by people with kidney or liver disease.
